| This smaller piece of Granny Apple green Orvil Jack is totally natural. It is a vein cut, so that black that you see underlying the thin green is the natural chert. It weighs 9c and measures 16mm x 10mm by 6mm thick. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| Assorted pieces of natural mint colored Orvil Jack varying from 1/2c to 4c each. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
I
have lumped the last two together. That is because Grace considers them more
properly identified as Blue Ridge turquoise rather than Orvil Jack turquoise
because they do not have the green coloration usually associated with the
Orvil Jack turquoise. These 14.5c (26mm x 20mm x 4.5mm thick), and 12c (30.5mm
x 11mm x 5mm thick) respectively. The only backing is spot backing to level
the backs, some more than others. There are no pits or abrasions on the surface
of any of these. All color changes are just that- color changes within the
stone itself. . These are some of the hardest turquoise I have ever cut, and
they took a mirror finish.
